The DRS2 is a solid, billet aluminum rearset made for Ducati 750 and 900 SS models, and which makes up one-half of a total rips kit, the most complete product available for optimizing rider position and motorcycle ergonomics. Used alone or together with the Cycle Cat BR series multi-adjustable bar mounting system, the DRS2 provides a range of adjustment limited only by the motorcycle itself. Typically, the range of adjustment is far in excess of what anyone will ever use.
As with all Cycle Cat rearset systems, the design and machining has been done thoroughly and with great attention to detail, so that the system bolts up easily, critical stock parts are reused, and nothing additional remains to purchased, customized, or modified by the user.
The total system can be installed and made ready to ride in minutes. The DRS2 multi-adjustable rearset system features the footpeg and toe piece, and lever adjustability common to all Cycle Cat Rips rearset systems. Light, strong, and the most adjustable system you can buy for your Ducati, the DRS2 not only delivers the ability to totally dial in the fit of your ride, but looks beautiful in the process.
The DRS41 kit, which is designed for Ducati 888 models, is very similar in form and function, to the DRS2. The image above fairly represents the appearance and mounting of the DRS41.

DRS-2 Range of Adjustment
To the left is a graphic representation of the range of adjustment possible with the DRS-2. The background image is the stock rearset. The red circle high-lights the stock position of the footpeg.
Each colored dot represents a possible position of the DRS-2 footpeg. There are 108 possible locations for the footpeg, all quickly and easily achieved.
While every footpeg position indicated can be used, and there is clearance for positioning of the peg in every case, at the extremes, the position-ing can be less practical due to obstructions to the foot or adjustment of the levers. Thus, the dots are color-coded to represent the practicality of use of the various footpeg positions.
The green dots are easily used peg positions. The yellow should be useable but may not be, in all cases, for all riders. The orange/red dots are likely to be difficult, though not impossible, to employ.
DRS-2 Design Intent
As indicated, the footpeg can be raised a maximum of 3.8", lowered a maximum of 2.1", moved backward a maximum of .9", or forward a maximum of 2.0", from the stock footpeg position.
The DRS-2 system is designed to fine-tune the footpeg and control positions for optimal handling and performance on an aggressive, competition sport bike. As such, the geometry of the system provides a 64:36 up:down adjustment ratio, weighting the system toward more aggressive, competitive positionings, while simultaneously providing substantial adjustment range toward open, relaxed, less aggressive settings, for taller riders and those wishing less angle in the knees. In determining the amount of downward adjustment to provide, designers also considered minimal reduction of lean angle to be an important objective, as well as avoidance of interference with fairings, and maintenance of proper linkage geometries.
Ultimately, it was our objective with the DRS-2 to create a versatile means for dialing-in the fit of the foot position and controls, to accommodate any style of riding desired, and to take advantage of every inch of adjustment practical. The DRS-2 meets and exceeds our objectives, and, we believe, succeeds in providing virtually any rider with an incompar-able, easily-achieved, personalized riding position, for any kind of ride.
The RS series of multi-adjustable rearset systems makes up one-half of a total rips, the most complete product available for optimizing rider position and motorcycle ergonomics. Used together with the Cycle Cat BR series of multi-adjustable bar mounting system, RS rearsets provide a range of adjustment limited only by your motorcycle itself. In general, the range of adjustment is far in excess of what anyone will ever use.
Between the extremes, riders have an ability to tune position almost infinitely, ensuring maximum possible comfort and optimized handling. RS rearsets utilize a simple but very efficient method (patent pending) of adjusting the foot peg position, providing 216 possible peg positions plus fine adjustment of the toe piece.
RS rearset systems are manufactured entirely of billet aluminum plus a titanium main screw.
All RS series rearset systems include the same adjustment mechanism. The height of the foot peg is adjusted via a rotating vernier. The setting is locked in place, in any selected position, by a captive steel pin (not shown), provi-ding positive engagement even if the main titanium assembly screw is not fully tightened.
The foot peg itself can be moved for-ward and aft a total of three inches.
The example at left is a DRS-1. The mounting bracket and other specific components vary in design as required for proper fitting.

A. The DRS13 and DRS23 are designed for stock configured bikes with stock or aftermarket low-mount pipes. The DRS33 and DRS43 are designed for bikes with high pipes. While the DRS13 and DRS23 will not be fully functional with high pipes, the DRS33 and DRS43 are fully functional with low pipes. If one anticipates switching between the two types of exhaust, the DRS33 or DRS43 would be recommended. However, conversion parts are available to modify the DRS13 and DRS23 to high pipe configuration. Please review the individual product pages by clicking on the product number in the table above, or contact Cycle Cat for more information.
1. These RS rearset systems mount up to the stock rearset mounting points, but do not permit remounting of stock heel guards. The kits include replacement heel guards in matching anodized aluminum or carbon fiber, depending upon the model and release.
2. These RS rearset systems mount up to the stock rearset mounting points, do not provide for the remounting of stock heel guards, and replacement heel guards are not included. There are a number of aftermarket heel guard options available.
3. If these RS rearset systems are adjusted to the extremes, optimal adjustment of the shift lever may require a longer shift linkage. Linkages are available from Cycle Cat. Please inquire.
4. The absolute range of application of these products is still being learned! Cycle Cat has not yet had an opportunity to fit every product on every potential bike. The years shown are the years of the bike fitted and tested in our shop. Products may actually fit many additional model years, and potentially, other models. As dealers and users provide us new fit information, we will update these pages.

"... by virtue of a couple unusual design elements which Ducati incorporated in the S4R, they made this project a unique challenge... solving it in a way that not only delivered the adjustability our customers expect, but also doing so with the result of simple installation in a product of beauty appropriate to the motorcycle, became something of an obsession... seeing it for the first time in finished metal was nothing short of exhilirating for us..."
The DRS53 is a fully adjustable, solid billet aluminum rearset system made for Ducati Monster S4R models. It makes up one-half of a total Monster rips. The system has been created to provide complete adjustability, outstanding strength and rigidity, and distinctive looks which integrate with and complement the S4R design.
Used alone or together with the Cycle Cat BR series multi-adjustable bar mounting system, the DRS53 provides a range of footpeg and lever adjustment limited only by the motorcycle itself. For most, its adjustment potential greatly exceeds what will ever be needed.
As with all Cycle Cat rearset systems, the design and machining has been undertaken thoroughly and with great attention to detail and to very tight tolerances, resulting in a shifting and braking system which is extraordinarily smooth. This new kit incorporates Cycle Cat's proprietary dual spline lever adjustment system, which keeps brake and shift linkage geometries fixed, in their stock position, while providing a broad range of lever position adjustment. Perhaps the best word to describe the DRS53 is "dramatic", because it is - in terms of performance and geometry, machined beauty, and above all else, delivery of dialed-in ergonomics.
The DRS53 includes Cycle Cat's all-new carbon fiber heel guards, designed to be fully functional throughout the extraordinary range of possible footpeg positions. As with all RS series rearsets, critical stock parts are reused, shift and brake geometry remains as stock, and nothing additional remains to purchased, customized, or modified by the user. Even the stock brake light switch bolts right up. Nothing's been compromised, nothing ignored. But perhaps the most exciting dimension of this new system is the range of adjustment possible.
The DRS53 system is designed to fine tune the footpeg and control positions for optimal handling and performance on Ducati Monster S4s. These motorcycles are, as stock, relatively unaggressive with respect to rider positioning, meaning rider posture is normally relatively upright, and weight distribution shifted rearward. As rider position becomes even more unaggressive, handling begins to suffer. On the contrary, as rider position is made more aggressive, handling may be found to improve significantly.
Ultimately, it was our objective with the DRS53 to create a versatile means for dialing-in the fit of the foot position and controls, to accommodate any style of riding desired, and to take advantage of every inch of adjustment practical. The DRS53 meets and exceeds our objectives, and, we believe, succeeds in providing virtually any rider with an incomparable, easily-achieved, personalized riding position, for any kind of ride.

The unique mounting of the stock footpegs to the swingarm required an equally unique design solution...
As we studied what Ducati had achieved with their mounting method, we liked much of what it accomplished, and thus elected to retain the method of mounting in our design of the DRS53. This required that we design and produce a flexible bushing to replace the stock part, as it cannot be removed and reused. The design, development, and production of this bushing alone took over two months!

Its all about details...
...careful, proper design, tight tolerances, fine machining, and the highest quality standards are evident everywhere, even on the closest inspection. But it's not done for bragging rights. It's done for performance...long life and smooth operation. And its born of a basic intolerance for anything less.

"...As the DRS13 began to emerge, over the course of 9 months of development, the excitement and energy around the project grew...every day, it seemed. What we were seeing was that not only was the system functionally excellent, it was also becoming very beautiful... "
Totally redesigned from its predecessor, the DRS3, the all new DRS13 and DRS23 are solid, billet aluminum rearsets made for Ducati Monster models. They make up one-half of a total Monster rips. The system has been created to provide complete adjustability, outstanding strength and rigidity, and distinctive looks which integrate seamlessly with the Monster design. Used alone or together with the Cycle Cat BR series multi-adjustable bar mounting system, the DRS13/23 provides a range of footpeg and lever adjustment limited only by the motorcycle itself. For most, its adjustment potential greatly exceeds what will ever be needed.

As with all Cycle Cat rearset systems, the design and machining has been undertaken thoroughly, with great attention to detail, and to very tight tolerances, resulting in a shifting and braking system which is extraordinarily smooth. This new kit incorporates Cycle Cat's proprietary dual spline lever adjustment system, pictured at right and below, right, which keeps brake and -shift linkage geometries fixed, in their stock position, while providing a broad range of lever position adjustment.
The new DRS13 and DRS23 eliminate the previous relocation of the brake master cylinder, greatly simplifying installation. The system bolts up easily, critical stock parts are reused, shift and brake geometry remains as stock, and nothing additional remains to purchased, customized, or modified by the user. Even the stock brake light switch bolts right up. Nothing's been compromised, nothing ignored.
But perhaps the most exciting dimension of this new system is the range of adjustment possible.

A Note on Exhaust Hangers
For those who utilize the stock or aftermarket lower exhaust, or wishing to maintain passenger pegs, the DEH2 and DEH3, solid CNC billet exhaust hangers, are available as an option. Exhaust hangers are not included with the DRS13 or DRS23 systems. The DEH2 (monoposto) and DEH3 (biposto, with provision for saddle bag attachment) kits bolt up in minutes, and provide a handsome, lightweight means of providing the exhaust support required or the support of a passenger and luggage.
Shipped complete, the total system installs in minutes. Light, strong, smooth and precisely operating, the DRS13/23 is the most fully adjustable system you can buy for your Monster. We think you'll be very pleased.
It's all about details and careful, proper design, tight tolerances, fine machining, and the highest quality standards are evident everywhere, even on the closest inspection. But it's not done for bragging rights. It's done for performance...long life and smooth operation. And its born of a basic intolerance for anything less.
The DRS13 and DRS23 are designed for stock configured bikes with stock or low aftermarket pipes. Two new models, the DRS33 and DRS43, have been designed specifically for high-pipe configurations. The DRS13 and DRS23 are not fully functional with aftermarket, high-mount exhaust systems. For those switching between high and low mount pipes, rearset conversion parts are available, please consider the DRS33 and DRS43 models.
1. On models with conventional, low-mount exhaust systems, an exhaust hanger is required (see text above.) Cycle Cat's DEH2 and DEH3, which are monoposto and biposto respectively, are available separately.
2. With the addition of fuel injection, Ducati placed an emissions cannister in a location which conflicts with the DEH2 and DEH3. Thus, Cycle Cat's exhaust hangers are not applicable to fuel injected models unless the cannister is relocated.
3. The DRS13/23 locate the brake master cylinder very close to its original position, but in a slightly adjusted position. To optimize this positioning, a slightly longer hydraulic line is required. Braided stainless steel lines, made for Cycle Cat by Spiegler, are supplied in the DRS13/23 kits. The DRS13 and DRS23 are identical except for the length of this hydraulic line.
4. As of the posting of this product released, all models and years of Monsters have not been specifically reviewed in our shop. To assist in choosing the proper kit for your bike, select the DRS13 if your rear brake caliper is mounted at approximately the 7:00 position on the rotor, when viewed from the brake side of the bike. Select the DRS23 if your rear brake caliper is mounted at approximately the 12:00 position when viewed from the brake side of the bike.

The new DRS33 and DRS43 are designed to accommodate a wide range of aftermarket high-mounted exhaust systems. To do so, they relocate the rear brake master cylinder to a position on the lower engine block, as it is located on the Ducati superbikes and ST models. This relocation keeps the master cylinder away from the exhaust, and incorporates Cycle Cat's double splined lever adjustment system, so that at any point in the full range of lever position adjustment, it is never necessary to change the brake linkage.
Both the DRS33 and DRS43 include Cycle Cat's innovative new reversible billet heel guards, designed to provide a full range of protection throughout the extraordinary range of possible footpeg positions.
Critical stock parts are reused, shift and brake geometry remains as stock, and nothing additional remains to purchased, customized, or modified by the user. Even the stock brake light switch bolts right up. Nothing's been compromised, nothing ignored.

A Note on Passenger Footpegs: Passenger footpegs are not available with the DRS33 or DRS43 kits.
DRS-33/43 Range of Adjustment
To the left is a graphic representation of the range of adjustment possible with the DRS-33 and DRS-43, compared to stock settings. The background image is the stock rearset. The white circle highlights the stock position of the footpeg.
Each colored dot represents a possible position of the DRS-33/43 footpeg. There are 108 pos-sible locations for the footpeg, all quickly and easily achieved.
While every footpeg position indicated can be used, and there is clearance for positioning of the peg in every case, at the extremes, the positioning can be less practical due to obstruc-tions to the foot or adjustment of the levers. Thus, the dots are color-coded to represent the practicality of use of the various footpeg posi-tions.
The green dots are easily used peg positions. The yellow should be useable but may not be, in all cases, for all riders. The red dots are likely to be difficult, though not impossible, to employ.
DRS-33/43 Design Intent
As indicated, the footpeg can be raised a maximum of 3.93", lowered a maximum of 1.93", moved backward a maximum of 1.81", or forward a maximum of 1.13", from the stock footpeg position.
The DRS-33 and DRS-43 systems are designed to fine tune the footpeg and control positions for optimal handling and performance on Ducati Monsters. These motorcycles are, as stock, relatively unaggressive with respect to rider positioning, meaning rider posture is normally relatively upright, and weight distribution shifted rearward. As rider position becomes even more unaggressive, handling begins to suffer. On the contrary, as rider position is made more aggressive, Monsters' handling may be found to improve significantly.
Thus, we designed the DRS-33 and DRS-43 to provide a range of adjustment weighted toward the more aggressive settings. The geometry of the system provides a 67:33 up:down adjustment ratio. With such a design, there remains considerable adjustment potential toward the more open, less aggressive settings.
Ultimately, it was our objective with the DRS-33/43 to create a versatile means for dialing-in the fit of the foot position and controls, to accommodate any style of riding desired, and to take advantage of every inch of adjustment practical. The DRS-13 and the DRS-23 meet and exceed our objectives, and, we believe, succeed in providing virtually any rider with an incomparable, easily-achieved, personalized riding position, for any kind of ride.

The relocation of the rear brake master cylinder ...itself involved a small work of art. The solid billet adapter, pictured above left, which relocates the master cylinder to the superbike position, provides for a quick and easy installation. It also allows for "as stock" utilization of the brake light switch. All assembled, the result is a smooth, precise, durable, and consistent braking system.
Its all about details... careful, proper design, tight tolerances, fine machining, and the highest quality standards are evident everywhere, even on the closest inspection. But it's not done for bragging rights. It's done for performance...long life and smooth operation. And its born of a basic intolerance for anything less.
The DRS33 and DRS43 are designed for bikes modified from stock with high-mounted exhaust. They work equally well with low-pipe configurations, but because of the additional cost of the master cylinder relocation kit included with the DRS33 and DRS43, owners of low-pipe bikes might prefer the DRS13 or DRS23 models.
1. Due to the location of high-mount exhaust pipes, and their proximity to a passenger's legs, The DRS33 and 43 do not provide for the mounting of passenger pegs.
2. Ducati Performance carbon fibre belly pans will cause an interference with the brake light switch mechanism on both the DRS33 and DRS43. This interference is easily remedied. Click here for more info.
