The BR series of multi-adjustable bar mounting systems make up one-half of a total rips. BR systems enables both bar height and angle adjustment through a simple, strong, and beautifully-executed design. The systems consist of two CNC-machined billet risers, into which are fitted specially-machined stainless steel sleeves, and a machined set of bars, taper-bored internally for strength and drilled for stock control mounting.
Proper bar angle is increasingly considered to be a critical adjustment for optimizing weight distribution on the wrists. With the bars set properly, there is less fatigue, greater sensitivity, and reduced potential for injury.
Bar angle adjustment on the BR systems is simple, precise, and secure, and generally does not require the removal of switches or controls. BR series bar mounting systems are designed to exploit every available millimeter of adjustment potential for each application. They are typically limited only by constraints created by the design of the motorcycle.

how do they work? On some models, maximum adjustment can only be achieved through lengthening clutch and/or throttle cables. Cycle Cat makes this easy, and includes all suggested cable modifications with the kit. Its all in the box. |

All Ducatis with coffin-style (rectangular box-type) brake/clutch reservoirs will also require Cycle Cat's master cylinder spacer kit. This kit is Cycle Cat part number PKHS031-02A, MSRP $40.00 when purchased alone, MSRP $20 when purchased with a bar mounting system. This kit provides extra clearance for the reservoirs which, otherwise, conflict with the riser. Kit contains two adapaters and throttle advance spacer (only one kit is required per bike).
NOTES:
1. In designing bar mounting/positioning systems, we work within the parameters of the space and clearances available between fairing, tank, mirrors, frame components, and often, the positioning restrictions resulting from cable and hose lengths. In cases where, as a result of short stock hydraulic hoses, adjustment is severely restricted, Cycle Cat systems include replacement hose kits as required. All such hose kits are made for Cycle Cat by Spiegler, and include braided stainless steel lines.
Where clutch and/or throttle cables require lengthening for full range of adjustment, the required cables are either included in the kit, or where they cannot be included, a prepaid coupon and mailer are included, making it quick and easy to have your stock cables rebuilt and extended. Click here for more about our cable extension deal. Regardless of whether hoses, cables, or both are required for optimum performance of your bar mounting system, you can be sure that whatever it is you will need, it's in the box you'll receive.
To learn more about exactly what is required for and comes with a specific bar mounting system, click on the product number in the table above.
Apart from the replacement of hydraulic lines or cables where deemed necessary, Cycle Cat bar mounting systems are designed and manufactured to exploit as much adjustability as is permitted by the motorcycle design, without requiring permanent modification to the motorcycle. We attempt to leave nothing on the table. Thus, in some cases, at their most extreme settings BR series systems will cause interference between bar-mounted controls and the fairing or mirrors. If the user desires the most extreme settings without interference, achieving clearance is simply a matter of backing off from the maximum to preference.
2. All BR series systems include replacement reservoir brackets and reservoir tubing for relocation of the brake and clutch reservoirs (where applicable), optimizing their positioning.
* The years indicated are those which Cycle Cat has tested. Applicability of the products probably extends to other model years, but as of the date of this posting, Cycle Cat has not had the opportunity to test bikes of model years other than those indicated.
**The DTC8 is recommended for the DBR13 for an aesthetcis purpose only.
Cycle Cat uses two terms, "rise" and "bar height" to describe the performance of its bar mounting systems. The two are not the same, and it is helpful to understand the difference between them.
Rise is measured as the distance between the top surface of the bar riser's fork tube clamp and the middle of the handlebar, at its mounting point. Rise is a fixed measurement which defines the bar riser itself, and does not change regardless of the location of the bar riser on the fork tube or the angle of adjustment of the bar. The "rise" specification is used for differentiating among specific bar risers. As a result of adjustability in the positioning of the bar riser itself, as well as adjustment of bar angle, bar rise contributes to, but does not equate directly with bar height adjustment. Bar height is the actual distance to the ground from the center of the end of the bar.
Bar height adjustment is the actual range of change in bar height possible, on a specific motorcycle, with the specific riser provided. Because it is meaningless to most people to know the distance of the bar to the ground, bar height adjustment is expressed as a comparison to stock bar height.
Thus the height adjustment measurement considers rise, position of the riser on the fork tube, and bar angle adjustment, all of which affect the final position of the bar and grip. As an example, if on a particular motorcycle, the stock bar height measured 34" from the ground, and a specific bar mounting system on that motorcycle provided a bar height ranging from 33" to 35 1/2" from the gound, the bar height adjustment range would be represented as -1.0" to + 1.5". This means that the particular bar mounting system provides a range of bar height adjustment of from 1.0" below stock to 1.5" above stock.
The RS series of multi-adjustable rearset systems makes up one-half of a total rips, the most complete product available for optimizing rider position and motorcycle ergonomics. Used together with the Cycle Cat BR series of multi-adjustable bar mounting system, RS rearsets provide a range of adjustment limited only by your motorcycle itself. In general, the range of adjustment is far in excess of what anyone will ever use.
Between the extremes, riders have an ability to tune position almost infinitely, ensuring maximum possible comfort and optimized handling. RS rearsets utilize a simple but very efficient method (patent pending) of adjusting the foot peg position, providing 216 possible peg positions plus fine adjustment of the toe piece.
RS rearset systems are manufactured entirely of billet aluminum plus a titanium main screw.
All RS series rearset systems include the same adjustment mechanism. The height of the foot peg is adjusted via a rotating vernier. The setting is locked in place, in any selected position, by a captive steel pin (not shown), provi-ding positive engagement even if the main titanium assembly screw is not fully tightened.
The foot peg itself can be moved for-ward and aft a total of three inches.
The example at left is a DRS-1. The mounting bracket and other specific components vary in design as required for proper fitting.

A. The DRS13 and DRS23 are designed for stock configured bikes with stock or aftermarket low-mount pipes. The DRS33 and DRS43 are designed for bikes with high pipes. While the DRS13 and DRS23 will not be fully functional with high pipes, the DRS33 and DRS43 are fully functional with low pipes. If one anticipates switching between the two types of exhaust, the DRS33 or DRS43 would be recommended. However, conversion parts are available to modify the DRS13 and DRS23 to high pipe configuration. Please review the individual product pages by clicking on the product number in the table above, or contact Cycle Cat for more information.
1. These RS rearset systems mount up to the stock rearset mounting points, but do not permit remounting of stock heel guards. The kits include replacement heel guards in matching anodized aluminum or carbon fiber, depending upon the model and release.
2. These RS rearset systems mount up to the stock rearset mounting points, do not provide for the remounting of stock heel guards, and replacement heel guards are not included. There are a number of aftermarket heel guard options available.
3. If these RS rearset systems are adjusted to the extremes, optimal adjustment of the shift lever may require a longer shift linkage. Linkages are available from Cycle Cat. Please inquire.
4. The absolute range of application of these products is still being learned! Cycle Cat has not yet had an opportunity to fit every product on every potential bike. The years shown are the years of the bike fitted and tested in our shop. Products may actually fit many additional model years, and potentially, other models. As dealers and users provide us new fit information, we will update these pages.
